Fedora Linux 41 has been released with DNF 5, GNOME 47, and other exciting updates
The Fedora community has announced the release of Fedora Linux 41 - the latest stable release of the popular GNU/Linux distribution backed by the open-source giant Red Hat. Compared with the previous releases, Fedora 41 is ahead of its schedule. Fedora 41 brings several exciting updates including DNF 5 - the new version of Fedora package manager, and the latest versions from the upstream projects including GNOME and Linux.

- Fedora 41 introduces DNF 5 - the latest version of the command-line package management tool. DNF 5 is faster, smaller, and requires fewer supporting packages. It can be used across containers, servers, desktops, and devices.
- Fedora 41 Workstation brings GNOME 47 - the latest iteration from the leading desktop environment project.
- Fedora 41 Workstation features Ptyxis as the default terminal emulator. Ptyxis offers excellent support for containers and is particularly well-suited for - Flatpaks, the preferred distribution method. The GNOME terminal is still available for those who prefer to stick with it.
- Fedora 41 introduces a new command line tool called
bootc
which enables the user to specify their container flavor.
